There are moments in life where you feel like you are dreaming, not in a nightmare, but legit dreaming. Things happen that leave you speechless, breathless and in awe. Or maybe that’s never happened for you? You can’t relate to the dreamy moments in life because your life has been one average ride or even worse, it has been terrible? You are not alone. The Israelite had been taken captive by Babylon and had been mistreated, persecuted and misused. Mothers and children had been separated, they had been humiliated, their king had been paraded like meat and fathers had had to watch as their families were killed. They were then placed in a foreign land and there it seemed like they would stay forever. So they cried out to God and I guess for a while it seemed like God didn’t hear them, or didn’t care. I’m sure some of them forgot that cry even. But then one day, they returned to their land. They were set free, they went home and rebuilt the ruins, the temple, their walls. They reunited with their families and lived in their own land. and this brings us to Psalm 126. This Psalm was written from a point of wonder, disbelief. It’s like when Abraham laughed after God told him he would be a father of many nations.(Genesis 17:17) It was a moment of ‘oh, really?!!! This is my real life?’ This psalm reminds us that God does hear our prayers and not only answers, but does it exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20:21) So what is it your praying and believing for? What is that that seems too impossible to achieve? What is your dream? The one that they say is too big? In psalm 126 it says “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.” You see, there is nothing too big for God. Nothing. There is nothing your mind can conceive that you cannot achieve in God. So dream and pray and work. A time will come that the tears that you shed while you were sowing the seed will turn to laughter as you reap a harvest. Because God is in the business of Fulfilling dreams. And is there anything that you feel was stolen from you, taken from you? Then fear not, it shall be restored. Amd not for your glory or even for your own righteousness but so that through your blessing, other people will be drawn to God in wonder. ‘Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” ‘ There will come a time, and that time is now, when you will say “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” just like the Psalmist. You see, that which you have been waiting for, hoping for, praying for is coming,it is here. So hold on, God has heard you and He will amswer you and show you great and mighty things you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3) and you will feel like you are in a dream.
Drown yourself in God’s word so that it can drown out the voices of doubt and unbelief. The first step and most important step to receiving a miracle is faith. Do not let anyone steal your faithKeep hoping, keep praying, keep working. Pray that God will help your unbelief and give you faith. Because faith is what will keep you holding on.
